8th Colonel of the Regiment Nelson B. Sweitzer 9 Jun 1886 – 29 Oct 1888
This was the third design of the 2d Cavalry DUI, worn from 1924-1931. The sharp points on the ends of the bottom scroll again called for a redesign.

Hello Johnny, I spent seven months working in Texas last year in the Plano/Frisco area. I was lived at a place in Gunar, Tx and commuted to Plano/Frisco. I was wondering how far from Rosenberg was I? I was working on a high profile Child Rape case and was only supposed to be there for three weeks, but it just kept getting bigger. Additionally, I just heard from Cpt Marcy....now retired "Col. Marcy", is working up in Anchorage Alaska, for a Company developing effective working relationships between the Military and Civilian orginizations. He let me know that after he was the K-Troop CO, he ended up returning to Ponds Barracks, Amberg and Command the 3/2 ACR. Belated "Happy New Year"....hope all is well with you and the Family. Mike Carlucci 1975-78 (K-Troop 3/2 ACR, 17K20...Ground Surveillance Radar Operations)

Toujours Pret Johnny,Welcome to the new DragoonBase, the new Base has plenty of newer features, lots of sub-groups,(ie,F-Trp,Amberg,Medics,etc.) and links for 2nd Cav News and History.
Robb Russell has posted some tips for navigating the site (ie,photos, links, ect) in the Forum.
Make sure you stop by and read the latest Tacoma Dave ‘Triva Quiz’, learn some 2nd Cav history and you can even win a kool prize.
If you need any help, you can contact Robb, or any of the 5 admins listed at the top of the page, or just yell out, another member may be able to help you.
And our only wish, ‘Keep it clean’, use our Real names/with Pictures (pix from back in the day, work best for searching for Brothers, but any picture will do. Tags also work great for searching).
And please tell all your friends about the new DragoonBase.
Thanks again for joining Dragoon Base, and for your service to our great country,
Jesse Kelley
