Connecting the Troopers of Today with the Veterans of Yesterday.
Jon, I left a message on Facebook for Steve Wesnoski. Hopefully he will respond soon.
Jon Wilco and great to hear back from you! It brings back fond memories of foot patrols in asshole deep snow on the grenze. I dropped off Facebook which was where I met up with the other guys from G Trp. It was way too weird. Unfortunately I canned your email address since it didn't work. I sort of prefer that to any type of social media platform. If comfortable doing so please send me your email address with the return message here. If not we can also keep in touch here.
Jon, Thanks for the call. It was very appreciated. Congrats on your career - a very different path. I'll try to call you tomorrow.
Brian
Scoots out! What's up Doc long time no see. Other than the snow parka you're wearing you haven't changed a bit. What's your secret for staying so young? Great to see that you also served in 2 ACR and we were there about the same timeframe. Love your Hobbies and can relate!. Are you a Lucky 16 member? If they'd have made me a CSM instead of a SP/9 I'd have fought like hell to get a Squadron in 3 ACR. The Army's mistake from my perspective as I made my retirement decision upon E-9 selection. I recently bumped into Jerry Michalak on Facebook. Jerry tried to give me your email but it didn't work so found you on Google. I always was a tanker who could scout a bit. FYI Jerry is in the hospital now with COVID which is never good. I don't know how he is doing other than his stated intent to fight it like hell. Please shoot him an email it will make his day for sure. I have proposed a post COVID crisis 2ND PLT, G TRP 2/11 ACR reunion here (we are living in Nuedlingen). So far LT Sommerkamp, SGT Michalak, myself and SSG Henline have all expressed an interest. Hope you can also join in. I am also in contact with SSG Cablay, SSG Neal, and SFC Davis. I would love to get caught up with what you have been up to for the last 40 years or so when you get a chance. The Fuzzman.
Well (SIR) it's great to see you did so well. How long after leaving did you go to school and get the commission? My uncle use to run the IGA store in Waynesville when I took Basic at Leonard Wood. My cousin and his wife live in Rolla. You've been to subject of many conversations, especially your appearance at the Gomer Pyle Promotion Board. I still have the handwritten skit Miller and I drew up in my office. I've given it to a couple a guys out here in Washington. I ended up as the installation SGM in Grafenwoehr then came to Lewis and retired. Now I'm fully retired and not doing much of anything. Maybe sometime when I come back to Missouri we can get together.
6T....great having you up on the net!! Hope you're well. Still in MO? We're still in Waco....daughter flying C-17s as an AF CPT out of Charleston and son just moved up to Seattle to look for a new job. WP 3
This was the third design of the 2d Cavalry DUI, worn from 1924-1931. The sharp points on the ends of the bottom scroll again called for a redesign.
