What unit(s) did you serve in with the 2d Cavalry?: Headquarters Troop 3rd Squadron

Tell us a little about your cav days.: The reason I stayed in the Army for 22 years. My first and in a lot of ways my best duty assignment. Never stopped with the field, gunnery, working all night in the motor pool. My oldest daughter was born in Nuremberg in 1985. Extra Duty for LTC Bird, walking around in a body cast for 90 days. I am surprised I survived!

Tell us a little about you now.: I work as a Program Manager and Maintenance Director for a Government contractor in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Name a few buddies you served with that you would like to find.: Ray Arbogast, Rocco Elmer, Greg Keaton, Butch Dillon, Bernice Guillory, Louie Percy, SGT Thompson, SFC Alvin Judge HQ Troop Maintenance!

But you know what, that was my last assignment and you guys were simply the best mechanics I ever worked with and supervised. I was looking at one of my old evaluations the other day and one of the comments said we had maintained over 95% readiness rate for 12 straight months and I immediately thought, it wasn't me it was all the good young mechanics and NCO's that worked for me. Last I heard Arbogast was still in Germany working for a contractor in Hohenfels. Do you remember that big tall red headed guy that went surfing on a car hood and almost killed himself? Sometime in late 86 or early 87, they combined HHT and SQDN maintenance, so you guys worked for me for a while. I remember you as being an excellent wheel mechanic. I also remember SGT Percy, Arbogast and a couple of others in your section. Good to see you are doing well in life. MSG retired Jimmie M. Henry
