Hi Ken, I just joined this group. Glad to see some recognizable folks. I served as 3rd Plt Ldr in 1985. Greg Whalley and Gary White were the other plt leaders. Scott Porter was M Co. XO at the time. Dave Dryer was CO, and "Swoop" was Sqdn Cdr. Good ol' days. Hope all is well with you. Toujours Pret!
Glad to hear you remember me!! I live near Sacramento, Ca. After leaving Amberg I spent a year in Fort Hood, I decided to pass on the E5 board and just went home when my time was up. I am married myself and have 3 kids. Two boys 10 and 3 and one girl who is 8. Not sure if you ever knew this, but early in my time at Amberg before my first tour on the border, you had told someone you did not think I would make it thru the border tour and would be sent packing! I had just come from 60 days as a hometown recruiter and was not in the right mind frame at the time. Your comment woke me up and I went on to have a very successful stay in Amberg including two border tours in the operations center. So I want to thank you for a comment that was probably not meant for my ears, but had a lot of impact! lol! I wish I could remember more names of the guys who I spent time with in Amberg. Do you remember who my tank commender was? I know we did not have a loader and SGT Romero was our gunner. lol! That was always fun!! I think it was Sgt Wilson. Younger guy, married, can't remember his first name. I wish I would have kept some sort of log or journal of everyone I met. Are you on Facebook by any chance?
Is that a Colts jersey? Been a die-hard Colts fan since 1965. Still screw up all the time and call them the Baltimore Colts.
I've hated the Dolphins ever since Don Shula left the Colts for Miami.

This was the third design of the 2d Cavalry DUI, worn from 1924-1931. The sharp points on the ends of the bottom scroll again called for a redesign.
