This was the third design of the 2d Cavalry DUI, worn from 1924-1931. The sharp points on the ends of the bottom scroll again called for a redesign.

Lonnie,
I am back from my travels from Germany and Puerto Rico. I am willing to take a trip to Raleigh for a beer(or two). Let me know what works for you.
Mike
Moved to Florence after Army. We should link up around Ft. Bragg when I return to the states.
Happy Birthday Lonnie! May you never have to get your gun tube rodded or your optics purged!!
Max
Lonnie,
I sent Mike an e-mail this morning with a link to the web site. I told him you were putting together a list of L-Troopers from the 81-83 time frame.
Tom
Lonnie,
I sent you a Friend request in order to send you an e-mail. I know where one of the L-Troop Scouts is from 81-83. His name is Mike Bates, and he was in L-Troop when you were. He was a 19D Private then, and is a National Guard SFC 11B now here in Florida. He works at Range Control at Camp Blanding, and I met him when I was a contractor there after I retired from the Army. Because I am an old 3/11 ACR, and 2/2 ACR Scout we became friends. I can get you his e-mail address if you'd like.
