This was the third design of the 2d Cavalry DUI, worn from 1924-1931. The sharp points on the ends of the bottom scroll again called for a redesign.

Mike, were you with HHT when CPT Niamtu was the CO. I was there '74 - '75. Worked out of S-2 as the ASA/SIGSEC Advisor to the 2d ACR.
Mike when did they start with the berets?

I remember Caton and Lambert goodness hadn't thought about them in awhile. Remeber Lambert's wife Tammy? How about the time he stripped down and ran out of Camp May with just boots? I became Cpt Hill's gunner, tank commander and then jeep driver, NCO Traning. remember when CPT Hill got married and rode on the tank with his bride? Fondest memory was in Garmish when skiing down the hill my binding did not release and it tore up my knee, will never forget that because the army docs never fixed it until I rotated back to the states to FT Stewart, GA.
