This was the third design of the 2d Cavalry DUI, worn from 1924-1931. The sharp points on the ends of the bottom scroll again called for a redesign.

good to hear from someone. I don't remember names either, not even good with faces. I was probably in hq troop when you got there, I worked in the orderly room as training nco. When I was with a troop I worked in the operations room with Clifton
Good to hear from you Ray-I found this web site by accident. In the rope-tug picture, the fellow without the hat tugging the rope I think is Sgt Stephens. I don't see SSg Millican (the motor sgt} in the pic. I'm the Lt in front of Stephens with the hair on his lip.. Wolfe was in my platoon and he was on loan to B Troop(or maybe C) as a driver on the border when he was killed-he was a nice kid. A Trp CO was Capt. Barber when I arrived in May '70, and when he left Capt Reede(you must remember "Honey") took over, but was relieved of command for taking a U-turn on the Autobahn with an armored column and taking out 150ft of guard rail. What kind of a preacher are you?
Hi Raymond,You left just before I got to Atrp in Aug. 72 But I recognise some of the guys in your pics.Bruce Jones especially. We became pretty good buds, wish I knew what happened to some of these guys. Hope all is well with you and yours. Tojours Pret.
Call me Lon,
I got to the Rock in Aug of '72. Spent the whole time in Squadron Commo. First formation I attended they asked if anyone could type and like a idot I raised my hand. I thought "Well commo must need scouts." LOL nope, needed commo folks. Lots of good memories. Spent some time at Widen as the TT operator. Bring job. Send the DAR at midnite. But could not leave post. Arrgghh. I was going to re-up, but decided at christmas time it would be nice to get my clearing papers and go home. Left the Rock Jan of '75.
Always Ready!
Lon
Raymond, yep your right I used to have hair getting a little thin now. Wow that picture brings back a lot of memories.
Raymond, wow been a few years brother. Hope all is well with you. Found Mike Garrett on this site and called him last weekend. Man that was a rush. Have not heard his voice in 39 years and it was good catching up. I'm going to add some photos soon myself with him and a lot of others. I left the Rock in 74, It's hard to put a face on some of the names but I remember your name and photo is real familiar. That's for getting in touch hope to hear from you again. Bet the weather is warmer there in Mexico than here. We just got 8 inches of snow and more coming.....Mike
Thanks William
P.S. Check out the new picture of A Troop I added to my pictures
Thanks
