This was the third design of the 2d Cavalry DUI, worn from 1924-1931. The sharp points on the ends of the bottom scroll again called for a redesign.

Hey Robert, Was scanning through the photos here on the page and came across your picture of the wash rack in Amberg. Saw in your profile that you were with Mighty Mike, and that Fernando Zamirripa is on your friend list here. I served with him in Mighty Mike in 83-84. We have a fb page called Pond Barracks. Would love to have you check it out. We have a lot of memories there. If you want to, go to Pond Barracks on fb and request membership, and we can get you added in.
Rick M.
The pictures only give a piece of the story. When you are on the ground 35 years later, even with all the changes, the memories bring you right back to yesterday.
I remember all these guys in M Co. 2nd platoon. My first unit with a bunch of great guys. I drove M-22. TC was SSG MacSparren, Marston was the loader
Bob,
We were there at the same time. Amazing. I arrived Pond Barracks fall 75, then straight to Hohenfels until M Co barracks were ready to occupy. Left Oct 77. I remember SGT Lawrence (tall, skinny guy with a studder), SGT French, SSG Witwer/Witmer (spoke fluent German, called him Buzzard), SFC Frazier (little stumpy guy), 2LT Cook (called him Cookie Man, Cpt Hill used to gnaw him like a chew toy). I recall some of the faces in your pics. Looking for my album, should have some pics to post soon. BTW, passed Sanford on Disney thing last summer. Sholter
I don't recall Bill. But I sure knew alot of people over there! I hope you are doing well. Take care and I will see you soon.
Robert, I reside in Davao City, RP. It is on the big island of Mindanao. Have been here for almost 4 years. Got married to fine Christian lady here. Weather is good most of the time and the dollar goes a long way; not like back in the US. Recently came back to LA for a visit with family and friends. I see you live in Sanford, FL. Traveled there quite a few times visiting friends over in Lake Alfred.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY ROBERT
Wishing you many more, from all of us at DragoonBase!!!
