E-mail the photo to me at deddygetty1@comcast.net. I'll post it on the 2d Cavalry Association site and put a link here to see it.
MUCH APPRECIATED!!!
Bob, I remember you well, I think I have a photo of you and O'rorke on the bus to Venice, I last saw R. Price and R. Pettipt in Ft.Knox in '87. Also ran into Sgt. Waco there. I was there for 2 weeks as IRR. As soon as I find my old photos will post. I also rememder Sgt.Pabon and C-17, I took out some guard rail on the Autobhan with it .
Hey, I remember that checkpoint well. That's the place where I finished my last patrol as well. I've got the pic somewhere. I'm still in touch with Roe. He lives just across the state from me. Hope all is well with you.
Thank you Bob, appreciated your friendship invitation. I plan to attend the 2013 Reunion, are you?
Do you recall the 2nd Plt. Sgt. SFC Jimmy Aldrich; you know where he went after 2nd ACR? What are you doing now?
Robert Haynes
Thank You for your participation in Dragoon Base - We welcome all new Cav members,
Welcome Home - Brother, Tojours Pret.
I served way, way before your time, 3/2 ACR, Amberg. '69 - ' 72. Spent many, many border tours, went out on OP a few times "for the fun of it, didn't have to, but volunterred to break the monotony.
Was a "wheel mechanic", as opposed to a "Track Mechanic" so I was of limited use to the Organization on the border. Volunteered to the off-site, single platoon assignment in a 2-story house outside of Regensburg, for Border tours, many times. Only had to keep 4 jeeps "up" more than once had 4 jeeps on deadline waiting on parts - usually U-Joints from guys peeling out and generally trying to "break" their mounts to effectively "end" the patrol assignment.
I hope this site brings you as much joy as it has me, as I have found alot of buddies from back in the day. We have relived many past memories, both pleasant and not-so-much-so. But it is all good
Tojours Pret ,Brother
Check me out on "oldtimers" some time.
My best to you and all the family.
John Boyd, ret.
This was the third design of the 2d Cavalry DUI, worn from 1924-1931. The sharp points on the ends of the bottom scroll again called for a redesign.
