Tell us a little about your cav days.
I arrived at K Troop Jan 77 after 2 years with the 101st. I remember the rotation of the training schedule was intense, Border, Amburg, Graf,Amburg,Border,CRI,Reforger et. I learned skills that carried me trough a reserve career. I also remember that the dollar devalued my entire tour and our buying power downtown was poor. I hate to say this but I really was unimpressed with our leadership, I think they were overworked and stressed out most of the time. and alot of NCO's treated us really bad, just because they could.
Tell us a little about you now.
Retired 1SG from the 100th Div USAR.
Regional Administrator for Kentucky's Dept of Juvenile Justice.

Hey Bob,

If I recall correctly, weren't you a tall, thin, fair guy with a great sense of humor? Something about "hole flaffers"? I suppose being around all of the 2nd Plt types (PeeWee, Yim, Bruce Taylor) you'd have to be able to laugh. I roomed across the hall from them, next to Frank Mitchell's room- and live to tell the tale!

Robert I recognize your last name but it has been too many years for me to put a face with a name. I spent most of my time as a medic at both Camps Rotz and may and probably met you at the camp if not on Pond Barracks.

Welcome to the site always good to have a new former trooper in our midst. Toujours Pret.

Toujours Pret Robert,
Welcome to the new DragoonBase, the site has plenty of newer features, lots of sub-groups,(ie,F-Trp,Amberg,Medics,etc.) and links for 2nd Cav News and History.
Robb Russell has posted some tips for navigating the site(ie,photos, ect) in the Forum.
And his only wish that ‘We keep it clean’, use our real names/with pictures, and you tell all your friends about the new DragoonBase.

Thanks Again for joining,
Jesse Kelley

This was the third design of the 2d Cavalry DUI, worn from 1924-1931. The sharp points on the ends of the bottom scroll again called for a redesign.
