I was assigned to the second A/C as an Army Overseas Training duty. I don’t remember much except my Sponsor was Gerry Werner, the Beast of Bayreuth. I double dated with him and Ursula several times. I was detailed to the BundesGrendzShutz because I spoke fluent German. Liked The three cities, especially Hof and my German comrades right on the fence!
Tell us a little about you now.
I retired in Princeville HI, play a little golf, drink a little beer…
Name a few buddies you served with that you would like to find.
I can’t remember any names except Gerry Werner. I think my Co was Jim something, had an Austin Healy 3000 that he let me drive a couple of times, great guy, taught me a lot. Mostly spent time with the German guys I was assigned with. Got me dates, etc. lotsa Bier!
