Tim, thanks for the reply. The reason I asked is when I arrived to B Troop in late '71, the troop XO's name was 1lt. Robert Young. As I understand he returned some years later as SCO. So it has to be the same guy. I recall he had a real intense stare if he so desired. Both him and the Troop CO. Capt. Barry, sported huge handlebar moustaches. Capt. Barry is a friend on my page as well. He also was SCO. in the 80's. mike

Hi Tim, What was the first name of the LTC Young that you mention in your Bindlach entry?

Hey Tim we have a few things in common even though the dates are different. I was in 3d Platoon Delta from 82-84 before being transferred to the S3 and I was Delta's Master Gunner. I went through M1 NETT with either Bravo or Charlie troop, (for the life of me I can't remember which one but Sam Pearson was the First Sergeant of whichever troop it was). A lot of fun in those old days . Good luck to you.

Toujours Pret Tim,
Welcome to the new DragoonBase, the new Base has plenty of newer features, lots of sub-groups,(ie,F-Trp,Amberg,Medics,etc.) and links for 2nd Cav News and History.
Robb Russell has posted some tips for navigating the site (ie,photos, links, ect) in the Forum.
Make sure you stop by and read the latest Tacoma Dave ‘Triva Quiz’, learn some 2nd Cav history and you can even win a kool prize.
If you need any help, you can contact Robb, or any of the 5 admins listed at the top of the page, or just yell out, another member may be able to help you.
And our only wish, ‘Keep it clean’, use our Real names/with Pictures(pix from back in the day, work best for searching for Brothers, but any picture will do).
And that you please tell all your friends about the new DragoonBase.

Thanks again for joining Dragoon Base, and for your service to our great country,
Jesse Kelley

This was the third design of the 2d Cavalry DUI, worn from 1924-1931. The sharp points on the ends of the bottom scroll again called for a redesign.
