Mr. Cole,

Greetings, I'm Dave McDermaid and I served with K Troop, 3/2 ACR from 1990-1992 (I served as the unit supply clerk/armorer with CPL Shay and SPC Perry).

I was curious to know whether or not you may be willing to participate in a project that I am considering: writing a book on the 3/2 ACR Desert Shield/Storm story?

I'm in the initial stages of the idea however, I decided that I should see whether or not unit members would be willing to share their experiences with me towards completing the overall story.

I appreciate your time and consideration in the matter, many thanks in advance of your reply.

Very Respectfully,

Dave McDermaid

Hey Tom,

I doubt that you remember me however, I remember you when you worked in the training room. Wasnt there a guy in there also (before or after your time) named Nichols?

I was the unit supply clerk (worked with SGT Jackson, CPL Shay, and SPC Perry), and I also had replaced SPC Ornelez (from the Mortar section) as the unit Armorer.

Anyhow, I was just exploring the site and noticed you from your photo.

Take care.

Your a good dude, Tom. You always was more squared away than I was. Im glad that your doing well and living large now. Atlanta really is nice town, isnt it?
Tell me, Tom, just as an aside question; what is the historic section of Atlanta called? Is there a historic section where really old homes are still to be found?

Yeah man, weve all spread all over the place since then.
Hey, I heard that they have torn down most of Pond Barracs since we left. Too bad. Those old buildings were built to last.

So what ya doing these days?
