"Hi John, I think that any one needing help then he was the soldier that could get it done. He had a way about him if you know what I mean! The first time that I met him I have to admit that I was a little intimidated, but later I found out that he…"
"Not only did CSM Mcquerry have a chest full of ribbons, he also had stripes down both arms.
He was one helluva trooper, and only occasionally came over to the club early on Sunday mornings to kabitz with the C.O. and X.O. [certainly not me]."
"CSM McQuerrry helped me get my job in the O club in the first place. I believe they were just looking for some one reeeely green [and I was] someone who hadn't been in trouble [ditto] and perhaps someone with some kind of related experience…"
For a while in Amberg we had UP's or Unit Police - some from every troop. Seems they wore Khaki's all Summer. That was their uniform of the Day and they also had UP arm-bands. Can't remember much else. I think there was…"
"Whole time in Amberg - 69 - 72 only wore the Khaki uniform ONCE and that was for an inspection!
Wasn't quite worth it.
Sorta liked the uniform though.
Someone told me to be glad that we DID NOT wear them. I think cause they DiD wear them in…"

"Great pictures, RC! It brings back some good memories. I wish that I would have taken a lot more but I was young and dumb!!! It looks like you have had a full life so far and still going strong. Keep it going. Thanks for sharing your pictures and…"
What unit(s) did you serve in with the 2d Cavalry?
Where were you stationed?
What MOS or job description did you have?
What was your rank/title?
What years were you assigned to the 2nd Cavalry?
Tell us a little about your cav days.
Command Sargeant Major Charles McQuerry was a great friend to me. I had a good job as a chief clerk for the base. Spent a lot of time camping and drinking. Downtown Amberg left a great impression on me that I have learned to appreciate more as time goes by.
Tell us a little about you now.
