This was the third design of the 2d Cavalry DUI, worn from 1924-1931. The sharp points on the ends of the bottom scroll again called for a redesign.

Ha! The only Guard duty I remember was my last 30 days. I turned down LTC. Smith's offer of E-6, OCS and 12K. (Kick myself in the ass today) Ended up on the first permanent Guard duty. 30 days as a relief commander... Then I ETS'ed.
Bill, sounds like your starting your retirement off right! Good times. I golf 2, 3 times a week and I'm very happy if I break 100.
