Bamberg to Fort Knox- Cav days went away

Some that I knew left E Troop Bamberg and went to Fort Knox to teach. Myself along with

SSG Robert Dickerson and SSG Heinman and two others I can not remember their names.

I taught Fire Control Systems for Both the Army and Marines AOB courses , the others were assigned to other training

Maneuver units.


One night Cpt Wottlin and us went out for drinks while he was at Fort Knox for some Career Course he was taking.

Yesterday,June 16,2013 my father-in-law passed away, He was a WORLD 2 VETERAN who like many rose to the occassion to fight for his Country. He was very proud of his Military Service and so Very proud of his Country. He's just ONE of MANY fast disappearing HERO'S of the GREATEST GENERATION. He now joins his wife Betty in Heaven...GOD BLESS Him and ALL of our HERO'S

I know many from U served at B Troop at the Rock 1972 who knows  the soldier Paul T Hall or Halle! came from KY went back beginning 1973 day of birth 03,03,1950

9th Colonel of the Regiment David R. Clendenin 29 Oct 1888 – 2 Apr 1891



This was the third design of the 2d Cavalry DUI, worn from 1924-1931. The sharp points on the ends of the bottom scroll again called for a redesign.
