A Christmas Poem

Twas the night before Christmas

And all through the track

Not a creature was stirring

We'd all hit the rack.

Our web gear was hung

On the side with great care

Hoping our relief

Would soon be there.

Suddenly we saw

On the radar with fright

A blip heading from the East

With great height

Unable to raise Pittman (the batteries had froze)

We saw through the binos a shiny read…

The Army Wears Berets?

What?  The Army now wears berets?  No shit.  Wonder where they got that idea from.

It Appears I'm Still Alive

Thanks for calling Gene.  Haven't been on here for years.  A very Merry Christmas and a semi sober New Year to everyone.  Me?  Working for JPMorgan Chase as a home equity loan auditor.  Downtown Phoenix, Arizona on the 23rd floor.  Some military, mostly civilian.  My trainer was a Marine and my AVP was Air Force.  Guess they needed someone from the Army to round it out.  No stress, easy job, good money.  I'd venture to say this is a good place to retire from.

Bindlach

Been reading posts about the Rock and stories about bunkers, Ammo storage, etc.  The How Battery complex at Bayreuth (barracks, Mess, Offices and club building) had a fourth floor.  The 1st Sergeant and I inspected it often to ensure it was clean and no female garments were there.  Seems the previous 2ACR Commander had walked through once and wanted to see the whole building.  He found a bra and panties on the fourth floor. That floor was off limits, but soldiers will be soldiers...

This was the third design of the 2d Cavalry DUI, worn from 1924-1931. The sharp points on the ends of the bottom scroll again called for a redesign.
