Dragoon Base

Connecting the Troopers of Today with the Veterans of Yesterday.

2CR is trying to raise money to help their Gold Star families by publishing a Deployment Book.  It's about $35, and is filled with lots of photos and info; they need to get a minimum order of 500 books, and are currently a couple hundred short of the minimum, need folks to get the word out and get their orders in.  Go to their Facebook page for more info, and to link to the site to order.

I just ordered another one too. I think that makes six now, lost count. Probably end up giving them away for trivia prizes!

Me too. Hitting 2Cav buddies that aren't on Dragoon Base for one.

Will Andrus and others have been putting up Facebook notices.

Roger -- Got it, so it should be out there; hopefully we'll get folks involved.  I'm also sending out info to folks on other networks.

I e-mailed notices to all 1600+ Dragoon Base members. Did you get one?

I've got my two, need some more folks to step up to the plate and help Keith Barclay and the Troopers and their families.  No one's gonna do this but us, so let's do it.

Remember YOUR Regiment, and follow your officers!

Thanks Mike.

The $35 price includes the shipping and handling too, so you can't beat it. And like Mike said, this is to help the families of our 2d Cavalry Troopers who gave the ultimate sacrifice for us.

I've bought five myself, and put up notices on here and all the 2d Cavalry Association websites. Of the books sold, I believe the majority are friends and veterans of the Regiment like us. Doesn't seem to be much support from the active troopers.

It's up to us to show these young Troopers the camaraderie and esprit de corps that separates the 2d Dragoons from the rest. Click the link below to order your book (or 2 or 3 or 5...)

This was the third design of the 2d Cavalry DUI, worn from 1924-1931. The sharp points on the ends of the bottom scroll again called for a redesign.
