Connecting the Troopers of Today with the Veterans of Yesterday.

For all the men who served with my father and were kind enough to respond and share Thank you you have blessed and filled a part of my heart that has always felt empty. My dad died doing what he loved he had so much pride in the history of the HOW batt. The army was not his job it was his life he was not perfect ( he was a 20 yr old in a foreign land in the 70s enough said) but now it has been confirmed that he was a man worthy of respect. I have honored his life and legacy all of my life but for the first time I have stories of my dads time in the service I can share other then the story of his death and that it worth more then words can say.Thank you for your service, your strength and your kindness

9th Colonel of the Regiment David R. Clendenin 29 Oct 1888 – 2 Apr 1891

This was the third design of the 2d Cavalry DUI, worn from 1924-1931. The sharp points on the ends of the bottom scroll again called for a redesign.
