Connecting the Troopers of Today with the Veterans of Yesterday.
Former C Troop First Sergeant Ned Devereaux need any information (tales, stories, memories...) about a great NCO, the late 1SG (ret) Paul Garcia. Paul passed away back in 2004 and a tribute to be published in the Spring of 2014 will need as much information to honor a great C TROOP member.

GREAT NCO!!
I served with him 1980-1982, before I went to ROC Border Opns. One of the best Scouts that I known.
God Bless!
Out of respect for his widow, Rafael. Paul had a rough start in the Army and we did some crazy stuff when we were young. Pretty much anybody in C Troop at the time can verify that. Had some fun and learned some hard lessons.
I've already talked it over with Ned and we both agreed not to bring that up.
I'd always wondered what happened to Paul after I left. I knew when he made Sp/4 it would go to his head!!! Sure glad to find out he went the direction he did. Sounds like he turned out to be a helluva Soldier.
Hi Dave, I (we) respect the privacy of your relationship personal and professional with the late 1SG Paul Garcia, but are you making that decision for ALL or just for you?
--Regards!
Sorry, my friend. The stories I have of Paul and I can't be printed in the newsletter. He was a great friend during the short time I knew him.

This was the third design of the 2d Cavalry DUI, worn from 1924-1931. The sharp points on the ends of the bottom scroll again called for a redesign.
