I have been busy working quite a bit lately and have not checked in much here at the base. I read where you lost Bryan, and that is a sad thing for sure, I can relate, I lost my boy General Patton late last year he was a 9 year old American Bulldog, and it takes a bit to recover from those things, but we do,it just takes some time. I am dog less, for the first time since I have been home from the Army 1982, thirty three years, I am not sure what I am going to do I have had some good dogs over the years and I am sure I will get another one someday not sure what kind just yet. I just wanted to write you a note and say I understand the pain and hope you get to feeling better, and you will, and I know from experience that nothing like a new pup to lift the spirit and put a smile on your face. I always thought a Basset hound would be a good dog to have when I get to be a old man. I guess its that time. Stay well Brother.

I have never known the pleasure or pain of owning a dog. My pets usually have feathers. But I know of no one who has experienced the loss of a dog who has not expressed what you are feeling. I'm sorry you lost your friend.

Are you the guy who actually ran the support platoon?  I think you worked with Dave Glamm.  I was the S-4 Officer at the time.  If I recall, the actual Platoon Sgt had a problem and you were asked to sew stripes on and run the platoon.  If this is you, you did a great job.

This was the third design of the 2d Cavalry DUI, worn from 1924-1931. The sharp points on the ends of the bottom scroll again called for a redesign.
