Dragoon Base

Connecting the Troopers of Today with the Veterans of Yesterday.

Just saw this morning ,thieves stole all of the bronze plaques from a VFW's local memorial. There is no master list,so they may not even be able to replace them, not to mention the cost(70,000 origionally)  My God what is this country comming to.Those that did this obviously have no idea as to what they have done.We can only hope they get retured.

Jeff,a good book to read.About military people who said that they earned all kinds of medals and they never earned them and had no right to say they earned them or to wear them.
Yeah, somebody did the same thing just days ago at the Tahoma National Cemetery near here. Stole a bunch of plaques and damaged a bunch more trying to pry them loose. Stole all the flags from the flag poles last year in the same ring of honor, too.
Although I'm the right age,I have never (when asked)said I served in Vietnam, will not even wear anything with a VN ribbon on it .Won't disgrace myself or the brave men and women that fought that war. However on another subject,I do think ALL of the Cav. units that patroled the Com. bordes deserve a campaign ribbon. It was the longest campaign in history and at no time was an easy job.
The name of the book is Stolen Valor!!!!!!!!!!!!
They probably had no teeth and would sell their Mother if they could find her.  Meth Heads!

This was the third design of the 2d Cavalry DUI, worn from 1924-1931. The sharp points on the ends of the bottom scroll again called for a redesign.
