Harold, the reason I came to California is through a dissolved marriage and 3 children who needed a sober parent, I had friend here who were willing to help us get a new start in life, and it was G-D's plan for my life at that time !

Hey Sig,

If you are going to move from NJ you move to FL not CA.

You probably were following Neil Diamond

Way north of us Dave but this morning we had some hail, about 1/4 ' dia. covered the street and the golf course, rare occurancehere !

Glad I could help out with the rain, Sig, but it looks like I may have overdone it. Been seeing a lot of flooding and mudslides in Cali now.

Good Monday morning troops, a rainy Monday morning here in the Lower Desert of So. Cal, much needed, thanks Dave for sending some water our way. A week ago we had some hot weather, 80's + now it's cold wet and windy, but not complaining. Mountains surrounding our valley must be nice and white. Can't see them for the clouds but yesterday our Pastor at church told us he has plenty of snow up in Idylllwild, elevation about 6/7 thousand feet, were at 1500 ft. and I've seen it snow here on the west end of town, once in 18 years. Hope Y'all are doing well !

Got my first Covid shot yesterday, not through the VA. Washington is vaccinating 65 and over now. A friend with connections in the health care field got me hooked up with an appointment. Shoulder is slightly sore, but other than that all is well. Didn't even feel the needle. Wouldn't have known I got stuck if I wasn't watching. Get my 2nd shot the 17th of February.

Frank,

The VA send ou a call to all troopers over 70 to get the shot.  I got mine in Delray, My brother went up to the hospital on Heron and 45th, near where you lived.

My wife is going tomorrow to the Broward health clinic with an appointment.

On your coast the Villages are getting them and all thru Sarasota North and Orlando area

Good evening Oldtimers and Troopers,

My browser actually let me sign in tonight. The frau and I are doing fine. Actually having some Cold/Chilly weather doon here in Thonotosassa, FL. Feels good, for a change. It'll be back in the 80's soon enough. COVID still running rampant in the area, but we've dodged that bullet, for the time being. More than likely will get the Vaccine, if and when it is offered to me.

Hope everyone is staying safe and healthy, taking needed precautions.

I've been watching the discussion about the state of Dragoon Base (via my e-mail) Hope that something can be done to save it or move it (BIG Problem there) to another venue. Not worried about my photos uploaded here, as they're backed up in other places.

Take care guys. Be careful out there!  Toujours Pret!

The driver compartment is definitely Sheridan, packed in rockets on both sides and backed by ammo.

On another note, Chief, thought you might be interested in these D Troop crossed sabers on e-Bay. $13 with free shipping.

This was the third design of the 2d Cavalry DUI, worn from 1924-1931. The sharp points on the ends of the bottom scroll again called for a redesign.
