Good Afternoon Brother Oldtimers!
I hope that everyone had an enjoyable and safe Independence Day - 4th of July!
Harry - As a couple of the others have said, the Pin with the Eagle on the Wheel looks very similar to the U.S. Army Quartermaster Corp Insignia, but is missing the Crossed Key and Sword.. The Other Pin looks like a British Naval Ensign and a French Flag. No idea what it symbolizes.
a bid of sad news . . the Trailer Night Lite bit the dust after six years of service. The Frau picked it up to change the light bulb and dropped it! damaged beyond repair! We thoroughly enjoyed it while we had it.
Take care, stay safe and healthy. Be all you can be! TOUJOURS PRET!!
Dave, you’re right. It will remain to figure out how they came into his possession. My wife has pictures of him dressed in a Nazi uniform but I’m sure he was on our side. :-)
Well Harry, this one from the US Army Corps of Engineers is very similar to the first one.

This was the third design of the 2d Cavalry DUI, worn from 1924-1931. The sharp points on the ends of the bottom scroll again called for a redesign.
