This was the third design of the 2d Cavalry DUI, worn from 1924-1931. The sharp points on the ends of the bottom scroll again called for a redesign.

Hey Bill, were the camps set up like this when you were with 11ACR?
That was the one and only time I've ever drank Kreuzberg. Quite the alcohol content, and excellent flavor. Love the reddish color too. Tried to find it in the states, but no deal. I can get dozens of original German biers at a deli near me, but not Kreuzberg.
Hey Bill, I had some of that monk bier when I went back to Germany in 2011. They had a small private ceremony for me at the 2d Cavalry museum and broke out a couple big bottles of Kreuzberg.
