Connecting the Troopers of Today with the Veterans of Yesterday.
Hi Charles - Chief here I hope you're hanging tough through this difficult times were going through in our country. I gave you some incorrect info,.there was only 1 Gyro move with the 2nd Cav and that was the one you were involved with in 1955-58 the second Gyro Move 1961-68 involved units in K -Town. Not that it makes it a big deal, in today's world.no one cares what we did in the past. hell most do not care about us now. Just remember old soldiers never die they just fade away - Dragoon for life - Chief
Hi Charles - hope you had a good 4th of July - were you involved with the program called Gyro Move? the first one was in 1955-58 when they sent 100 troopers from the 3rd ACR stationed at Fort Meade to assume the duties of the 2nd ACR in Germany, then after three years they send the 3rd ACR back to Fort Meade. Another Gyro move was done in 1961-68 this time the 3rd ACR brought with them the new M-113 APC.and 1000 troopers with family on a PCS Move. Gyro Move became the Reforges exercises,- I did find some old photos of 3rd Bn - Chief.
Hi Charles - please join us at the old timers site, do you have any pictures you could Share with us? I did find photos of that switch they did between the 2nd and the 3rd Sq.and then back to the 2nd.- Dragoon for life - Chief

This was the third design of the 2d Cavalry DUI, worn from 1924-1931. The sharp points on the ends of the bottom scroll again called for a redesign.
