Tell us a little about your cav days.
To begin, I was not a happy camper, when my assignments officer informed that I would be going to a CAV Squadron. I had just completed the FIRST Quartermaster Warrant Officer Advance Course. My last assignment, was Property Book Officer for the Lightning BDE at Fort Knox. But,when I think back about the 13 assignment, I had during my career, 1st Squadon stands out. I had the privilege of serving with some of the best Officers in the Army, I also, we had some the finest young soldiers in the Army. Looking back, I am very proud to have served in 1st Squadon 2nd ACR.
Tell us a little about you now.
I am retired. My last job was Assistant Director US Dept. of Labor VETS in the Columbus, OH office. Prior to that, I was a Disabled Veterans Out Reach Sp. for the State of Ohio. Currently I volunteer with ESGR.

It appears you come from a long line of 2d Dragoon/2d Cavalry Reed's. I've found 13 so far besides you and Col. Charles H. Reed, and I'm only up to 1866, including an Edward Reed who died during the war with Mexico.

Welcome aboard Eddie. Good to see another Ohio boy here. I was in the 1st Sqdn 72-74. I'm over here near Athens. Glad to hear you do a lot of work with Vets. We do quite a bit with the Vets over here. Tojours Pret





This was the third design of the 2d Cavalry DUI, worn from 1924-1931. The sharp points on the ends of the bottom scroll again called for a redesign.
