This was the third design of the 2d Cavalry DUI, worn from 1924-1931. The sharp points on the ends of the bottom scroll again called for a redesign.

Ed, I remember you in Personnel. I was at Pond from 65 to 68. Started in I Troop and after my injuries went to Hq. Wolfgang Follman
Good morning Ed. I have been reading the book that you co wrote with Jack Tarvin. Love the stories and things do not seem to have changed much in the 15 years between when you were there and when I was. Would love to see you join our facebook group called Pond Barracks. A lot of memories there.
Ed,Happy Birthday,and good book.I was there 9/69-3/71.
Hi Ed,
I was in Hq Trp 3/2 ACR from late Feb 66 to mid Aug 68. Worked in the Sqdn Maint PLL Office and then later in the S-4 Office under CWO Patterson. Was in and out of the Head Shed with reports for the Major and Col. It's very possible that we crossed paths.
I have quite a few pictures of that time on my page. Look through them if you want. Went to Signal School at Ft Monmouth, NJ, after leaving Amberg, then to Ft Carson, CO with TDY stints to Ft Knox, KY. Got out in Dec 71.
Toujours Pret Ed
