What unit(s) did you serve in with the 2d Cavalry?: Half Cav 1/2 acr A-troop

Where were you stationed?: Bindlach - Christenson Barracks

What MOS or job description did you have?: 64c Track Vehicle Mech.

What was your rank/title?: Spec 4

What years were you assigned to the 2nd Cavalry?: 1972 -1974

Tell us a little about your cav days.: Spent a lot of time fixing those 551s,and enjoyed Camp Gates the most. Had a good group of mechanics,got along with everyone.

Tell us a little about you now.: I'm now an indp. carpenter and all around handyman. Active with local VFW and Legion

Name a few buddies you served with that you would like to find.: Bruce Jones,Kevin Mundy,Darold Poundstone,at that time 2ndlt Rick Schmitt and 1stlt Pratt

Hell yeah we can wear Stetson's, but there are a couple guidelines.

1. Wear of the Cavalry Stetson should be confined to Cavalry/Military functions.

2. Stetsons will not be worn in bars/taverns, strip joints, or brothels, unless:

a) A Cavalry/Military function.

b) Coming from or going to a Cavalry/Military function.

(I guess they were supposed to have governors, but everyone disabled them) So here we were speeding along - driver steering side to side to kill speed - me and the TC on the back deck trying to open the grill doors and grab the throttle. The column was stopped ahead pulling into the rack...traffic was coming in the other lane..... TC grabbed it with about 10 feet to spare. I was surprised they had gas engines....
