I have been busy via my job as I have been traveling quite a bit. We officially left that Communist dump called NYC and moved to the GREAT state of Florida.
Not sure remember his first name. I know he was a Sgt. Both of us ended up at Fort Stewart in B Troop 2/9 Cav. The unit was suppose to Get M551 but was changed to M60s. Seeing how both had experience on tanks they made TC on M60s. It was a hoot for us.
i know we both reported in the same day wearing our black beret from 2/2. The CSM, and our 1Sg to be said now that what to to see, Beret on all his troops.
Hey Tom, I finally got around to joining the Dragoonbase! I'll try to upload some pictures soon--I have a bunch with, who else--Bob Lavoie!!! Some of Major Blake too.
Hi Thomas,
Was feeling nostalgic, trying to recall some old memories as they seemingly are disappearing faster than time itself, thinking about my fellow soldiers, and time in Amberg...ran across your posts about Redeye. Was in M Company, as an E2 and M60 tank driver, #31 I think, when during mid-year of 1971, I was transferred to HQTroop and the Redeye unit and promoted as an acting E5, squad leader and training NCO. I believe that there was a Gregory that was charged with NCO of the 6 squads. Seems we were short staffed, squads were basically leader, driver , jeep/trailer and simulator redeye. I used to plan for training missions at a reservoir located atop a mountain.
Would love to pry out more of those treasured memories. Will send what ever photos I can find soon., Dennis Hughes

This was the third design of the 2d Cavalry DUI, worn from 1924-1931. The sharp points on the ends of the bottom scroll again called for a redesign.
