This sign is much more "fancy" than the sign that was out in front of the barracks (what with the artwork on the "Iron" and the artistic sabers). If it was older than Iraq, it would be more like a sign that would have been inside the barracks (like at/near the CQ desk when people first walked in) ... or perhaps even in the First Sergeant's/CO's offices.
Wow! I think I might have a photo of that sign in place at Pond Barracks. If I recall correctly, it was placed across the street from the I troop barracks entrance next to where we parked the CO's and First Sergeant's jeeps, along the path to the chow hall. I'll look into it soon to see (and post the photo if I do have it).

Hello Dave!! Have you see any write-up by the 2d Cavalry Association on the passing of CSM Ned Deveraux and/or his contributions to the Regiment? He was the editor of the Association periodical for many years too!
How is everything with you, I picked interest on you after going through your short profile and deemed it necessary to write you immediately. I have something very vital to disclose to you, but I found it difficult to express myself here, since it's a public site.Could you please get back to me on where his email is for the full details. Have a nice day Thanks God bless. Scammers are using this same message around the internet to get money from your bank saying you win money. I speak German and this persons Englisch is terrible. I served on the Rock in Bindlacher Burg Delta Company also helped with head start German since I spoke it anyway. Harry Mills was my tank commander. I was the driver. He told me that when I drove it was like driving on a cloud. I am the only one who like going to the wash rack.
The reason I have 3 accounts is keep forgetting passwords lol
Happy birthday Dra made it another year. Enjoy your day to the fullest. I will drink one of my German dark wheats that I have stashed away in your honor today.

No Dave, that's not the Dave Clark that I know, the one that I know was my Plt. Ldr. while in C Trp 1st Plt. on late 1979 until 1981, he then was selected and became the newly promoted BG Robert Wagner (Dueler) Aide the Camp at the 3rd ID, About 2 years forward then CPT. Dave Clark commanded a Troop of 3/7 Cav (I think A Trp.), David Sheridan Clark is now a retired LTC residing in Tennessee. To the Captain Clark on your photo - "Rest In Peace my Brother and Thank Your For Your Service and Ultimate Sacrifice."

This was the third design of the 2d Cavalry DUI, worn from 1924-1931. The sharp points on the ends of the bottom scroll again called for a redesign.
